Unsupervised learning is a type of training to find patterns for input data without attempting to map them to specific targets. A Kohonen Self Organizing Map (SOM) will be introduced and applied to the classical Traveling Salesman problem, which is analogous to the important problem of minimizing the wiring distance in a complex integrated circuit.
