The MIC was performed at various concentrations of each compound (1000, 500, 250, 125, 62.5 and 31.25 μg/ml etc.) employing doubling dilution in Brain Heart Infusion broth. 1 ml of the broth was taken in all the test tubes with an equal amount of the compound (1 ml) added to the first test tube, serially diluted with the last 1 ml being discarded. To complete, the test organisms were separately suspended in 5 ml of BHI broth and incubated overnight, from which 0.1 ml was added to the serially diluted test tubes and incubated at 37 °C for 18 h. After incubation, the tubes were examined for the presence of turbidity and subjected for OD values with control.
