Elasticity: Elasticity of a material is its power of coming back to its original position when the external applied load is removed The greate stress that a material can cndure without taking up some permanent set is called elantic limit(Point a. (Stress strain curve), Elasticity is a tensile property of its material. 7-Plasticity. The plasticity of a material is its ability to undergo some degree of permanent deformation without fracture. Plastic deformation will take place only after the elastic range, (beyond point b- [Stress-strai curve). In general, plasticity increases with increasing temperature and is an important widely used in several mochanical processes like forming(suitable property of material for secondary forming processes), shaping and many other hot and cold working processes. The properties various of metal can be transformed into different products of required size and form. This conversion into required shape and size is effected either by the application of heat, pressure or both. 8- Ductility: sthe ability of the material to stand large plastic deformation in tension. Mild steel is a ductile material. The property of the material which enables it to be drawn out to a considerable extent before failure.
