from the empirical finding in this section, a significant number of teachers are of the view that the current teacher appraisal system serves among others, the improvement of the teacher performance in the schools. this conception of the appraisal process playing a crucial role improving the performance of teacher also illustrated in sections 1.1, 2.3, and 2.4.1 of this study. basing on the responses to items 8, 9 and 46 of the survey questionnaire (Appendix G) and item 1 of the structured interview schedule (Appendix H), it can be argued that the current teacher appraisal system as practiced in Botswana secondary schools to a larger extent improves the teachers' performance which should enhance the students' learning process.
