SNAP is a comprehensive and cohesive plan of action aimed at building the capacity of both government and non‐government institutions in promoting disaster risk reduction. It goes hand in hand with the objectives of the ASEAN Agreement on Disaster Management and Emergency Response (AADMER) and the five priority areas of the Hyogo Framework for Action. The final draft of the SNAP has been circulated to all the members of the National Disaster Council (NDC) for their comments and endorsement. Meanwhile, NaSOP outlines the agreed procedures that must be followed by all agencies involved in a disaster operation. Through NaSOP’s concerted and coordinated approach, it is hoped that responses to disasters in Brunei Darussalam will be more effective. In order for NaSOP to be Brunei Darussalam Country Report 2constantly up to date, effective and streamlined into responder agencies’ standard operating procedures, NDMC is periodically reviewing its content through testing such as table‐top and simulation exercises
