The bivariate relationship between spiritual well-being,QOL subscales, depression, and diabetes control (HbA1c)wasassessed by calculating Pearson correlation coefficients. Variableswere selected for inclusion in the multiple regressionmodel based on theoretical importance as well as significancein bivariate analyses. Multiple regression analysis was usedto assess the predictor role of the 12-item spiritual well-beingsubscale of the FACIT-Sp subdomains (peace, meaning, andFaith) on determinants ofQOL.The FACT-G total scores andits subdomains (PWB, SWB, EWB, and FWB) considered asthe dependent variables [35] and the independent (predictor)variables (peace, meaning, and faith, PHQ-2 and HbA1c)were entered in blocks.Collinearity diagnostics were performed by means ofthe variance inflation factor (VIF) for each independentvariable entered in the regression equations.
