Effects of lighting color on overall flavor intensity and overallimpression of the mealAfter completing their meals, participants rated overall flavorintensity and overall impression of the meal served under thethree different colored lighting conditions. A two-way ANCOVArevealed no significant interaction between lighting color and genderin the ratings of overall flavor intensity [F(2, 104) = 0.85, P = 0.43]and overall impression of the meal [F(2, 104) = 0.30, P = 0.74](Table 2).The ratings of overall flavor intensity did not significantly differamong the three lighting color conditions (P = 0.49) nor betweenmen and women (P = 0.64). In addition, the overall impression ofthe meal was not significantly different with regard to lighting color(P = 0.81) and gender (P = 0.64).
