The researcher created ten categories from the interview data and
used the
Corbin and Strauss's (2007)
paradigm to link the relationships
between the10 categories.The
five components of the paradigm are(1)
causal conditions,(2)contextual conditions,(3) intervening conditions,
(4) action/interactions, and (5) consequences. By linking the
fi
ve
components of the paradigm, a substantive theory to direct the healing
and restorative process of people who have recently attempted suicide
was created. Each of the components within the paradigm interacts
with all other components. Therefore, the
‘
contextual conditions
’
and
‘
intervening conditions
’
affected the individuals' action/interactions
strategies by either nurturing healing conditions or impeding condi-
tions during the healing process. This paper concentrates on the
‘
contex tual conditions
’
(the internal and external environment) and the ‘
intervening conditions
’
(the protective and impeding circumstances)
from which four categories were created.
