This introduced snail has an aggressive reproductive strategy which allows it to outcompete other snail species (Guimarães et al., 2001; Gutiérrez et al., 1995;
Iannacone et al., 2003). López-López et al. (2009) found that this
snail species is able to survive, without difficulty, in areas with high
concentrations of nutrients. However, it is also found in areas with
high water quality, and without high levels of nutrients (Verma and
Saksena, 2010).
