the conversion and selectivity of Crude Glycerol-based Propylene glycol are 3% and 50%, respectively, under similar conditions. Regardless of the increase in catalyst concentration to 35 g catalyst L1, the total glycerol conversion of both crude Glycerol and pure Glycerol feeds increases, whereas the selectivity of Propylene glycol decreases under similar reaction conditions. Therefore, the application of Crude Glycerol is not reliable in hydrogenolysis by using Raney nickel catalyst because of the high cost of catalyst production.
