Director competencies – to ensure the directors process an appropriate range of skills and experience, the nomination committee should consider implementing a plan for identifying, assessing and enhancing director competencies. According to recommendation 2.5 companies should disclose the process for evaluating the performance of the board, its committees and individual directors.
Board renewal – as board renewal is regarded as critical to performance, the nomination committee should consider whether succession plans are in place so that the board maintains an appropriate mix of skills, experience, expertise and diversity.
