hildren instinctively listen to music and try to identify familiar melodies and rhythms, just as early readers will look for words that sound alike, or have a parallel rhythm (Jalongo & Ribblett, 1997). From my experience as an English teacher organizing the 1st English Summer Camp in Gaza in August 2004, I realized how using songs can expand vocabulary, raise self–confidence, and allow students to easily recall new vocabulary, facts, numbers, and other topics.
