The PMP form contains several sections that capture different aspects of associate performance. The “Core Accountabilities” section is focused on the foundational activities that make-up your role, including those that you would typically sustain over a longer period of time. The “Goals and Objectives” section is intended to describe targeted activities, assignments, and projects that you may focus on during the performance year. These are more often one-time events or metrics that are agreed upon with your manager. The “Competency” section describes “how” you do your work – the underlying behaviors that impact your ability to be successful in your role. In addition to the sections of the PMP form related to associate performance, there is also a section near the bottom of the form for each associate’s individual development plan. The purpose of the development plan is to emphasize the importance of developing key competencies, either for a current or future role. Each associate should have a targeted plan that focuses on activities for developing one or two competency needs.
