Another simple case of decision-making is to compare a certain measured
parameter with the permissible level. As in the previous case, it may not be
necessary to know the probability distribution of the true value of the
measured parameter. The decision can be based on the measured dispersion
if the measured mean value is distinctly different from the permissible
level. Otherwise, the decision taken may be fallacious.
