Another thing the scene of “The Hobbit” where hobbits interacted with other tribes makes the film fascinating, exciting and amazing. The Hobbit VFX team used motion capture technique to created tribe other than human beings. For example, in the scene that where Bilbo Baggins runs away from Dragon Smaug, we see the smooth and elegant movement. It is so realistic that I forget this is 3D model. The artists made Dragon Smaug by motion capture (mocap). In this scene, the dragon was created by mocap. When I watched Behind the scenes, I saw Benedict Cumberbatch plays the role of the perilous dragon, Smaug. The footage shows Cumberbatch lying on the floor. He had to writhe around in a technological sensor suit and helmet. Motion capture is defined as the creation of a 3D representation of a live performance.
Motion capture is reason that makes the scene more believable.
