Currently, many thermochemical processes such as gasification, pyrolysis, liquefaction, and combustion are being used to convert lignocellulosic biomass into biochar. Among all of the thermochemical processes, pyrolysis is considered better as compared to the other because the lignocellulosic biomass can be converted to solid biochar quickly. There are many factors which affect the physiochemical properties of the solid biochar which includes pyrolysis temperature, type of feedstock, residence time, carbonization process and heating rate. Among these, the temperature is the most important factor which controls the properties as well as the yield during the pyrolysis [12]. Therefore different physiochemical properties of the biochar are considered as important factors and need to be tuned before using it as a raw material for different applications.
