It may seem romantic or sappy, but I really did appreciate what Shakespeare had to say on the topic. Love is often taken too lightly. In this sonnet, Shakespeare is turning it into something bigger, what it actually is. True love really is unbreakable, all powerful, and unaffected by any outside factors. Love gets tossed around too much. You always hear people saying that they love someone when they don’t really have a clue what love even is. I do think that true love is nearly impossible to describe but I think Shakespeare got really close with Sonnet 116.
