Common approaches to assessing the quality of teachers include the performance of students in the
various subjects and teachers’ self - assessment. These assessment procedures had been adjudged ineffective (Ogomaka & Harbor- Peters, 1993), in that many factors have been found to characterize the effectiveness of a teacher and consequently his teaching (Ogomaka & Harbor- Peters, 1993; Imhanlahimi & Aguele, 2006).
