Standard IMDS Check: If the component contains more than 25g of polymeric materials (classifications 5.1.x, 5.3 and 5.4.1), the parts marking question must have a response, or a warning will be displayed.
Prohibited Substance Check
If an MDS is sent to Nissan, it is checked for prohibited substances according to GADSL. If there are prohibited substances contained, a Warning is displayed.
Material Symbol Check
The entire product structure tree is checked for missing material symbols. If there is a Polymer of the classifications 5.1.x, 5.2 or 5.3 contained in the structure tree without a symbol, the MDS cannot be sent to Nissan (Error).
Wildcard Check
The Joker „Request/Hg/Cr6/Cd/Pb“ must not be used in any MDS sent to Nissan.
New Field in recipient-specific data for sending/proposing to Nissan
“All Jokers have been used for non-GADSL substances only” - This field (yes/no) is only available when sending the MDS to the Nissan Motor Corporation [13662]. By selecting “Yes”, you confirm that neither you nor your suppliers used GADSL substances and hid them by referencing a basic substance joker. When performing a check on the MDS, not selecting “Yes” results in an error and thus prevents you from sending the MDS to Nissan.
Note: It is never acceptable to include GADSL substances in an MDS as jokers. GADSL substances must always be reported, unless below the tolerance threshold (usually 0.1%) and not deliberately introduced into the material. Even then, these materials must not be masked as Jokers. Nissan requires the explicit confirmation Jokers have not been used to mask GADSL substances, but this requirement is inherent through acceptance of the IMDS Terms of Use in every MDS submitted.
Furthermore, Nissan will not accept an MDS marked as “Development Sample Report”. Therefore, if Nissan is the intended recipient of such an MDS, an error message will be generated. For any MDS which will be submitted to Nissan, we highly recommend adding Nissan as the recipient before running the check procedure.
