The dissolution rate profile of all the six formulations showed that a higher amount of HPMC 15cps in tablet composition resulted in reduced drug release. Formulation F-5 having a composition of 13.3% HPMC 15cps gave a predetermined release for 6 hrs from all the other formulation F-1, F-2, F-3, F-4 and F-6. So it was concluded that formulation F-5 is an optimized batch because its drug release profile (fig. 1) shows drug release for six hours in predetermined rate. At higher percentage of HPMC in tablets, when in contact with release medium, HPMC may swell and form a thick gel, thus may decrease the size of the pores present in the tablet and reducing the drug release.

Profil laju disolusi semua enam formulasi yang menunjukkan bahwa jumlah yang lebih tinggi dari 15cps HPMC dalam komposisi tablet mengakibatkan pelepasan obat berkurang. Formulasi F-5 memiliki komposisi 13,3% HPMC 15cps memberikan rilis yang telah ditentukan selama 6 jam dari semua formulasi lain F-1, F-2, F-3, F-4 dan F-6. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa formulasi F-5 adalah batch dioptimalkan karena pelepasan obat profilnya (1 gbr.) Menunjukkan pelepasan obat selama enam jam di tingkat yang telah ditentukan. Pada persentase lebih tinggi dari HPMC di tablet, ketika kontak dengan media rilis, HPMC dapat membengkak dan membentuk gel yang tebal, sehingga dapat mengurangi ukuran pori-pori yang ada di tablet dan mengurangi pelepasan obat.
