Having been once used as the principal port of the Cham Kingdom, Hoi An beholds a vast array of foreign influences, leaving visitors with an unmatched experience of culture, heritage, and history.
Having only a few short days visiting Hoi An, I promptly set off for the old town as soon as I had arrived. The old town boasts a strong Japanese influence – with the clear highlight being the Japanese Covered Bridge. It’s a popular stop for the tourist ‘I came to Hoi An’ shot – but if you cross the bridge to the other side you won’t be disappointed by the festive displays which many visitors somehow overlook.
