News :Prime minister fears 'undercurrents' of unrest would jeopardise peace if martial law lifted
Prime minister Prayut Chanocha said he was considering lifting martial law but was concerned that undercurrents of political unrest still exist.
"People need to help me. If you ask me to lift martial law who will take responsibility if anything happens or the reform process fails?" he said. "It would be me who has to take the sole responsibility."
He said he realised martial law was not in keeping with democracy in the eyes of the international community, but he needed to put the country first and protect the public.
My comment :
I agree with him because in order to make peace in country we need to make sure that anything is in normal and peaceful before lifting a martial law. For using a martial law, it creates the order that public must follow. And if every people are following the rules it will be an important base for developing country.
