Greek art and furniture were known for their distinct characteristics. These include the following uniqueness and specifications:

Three Basic Types of Greek Seats
The Greek seats have three (3) basic types that until now still being used. They are:
Stool – This is the most common type of seats. The examples of this are: ordinary stool, folding stool and box stool.
Throne (Thronos) – This is a formal and elaborately decorated and reserved for those of great importance. Most thrones had armrests and all had a footstool or Threnys. Some were made of stone and decorated with carved sphinxes, griffins and other animal representations.
Chair (Klismos) – This is armless chair of graceful outward curving legs, arched back, flowing lines, rectangular seat and a back formed with a concave crest rail supported by curved uprights.รแปล
