• Only the amounts of chemicals needed for a single day should be kept in production areas, following the applicable law. • Production areas should be kept free of chemical spills. • Hazardous chemicals should not be placed in containers of receptacles that are used generally for food/drink. • No eating or drinking in areas where chemicals are used. • Containers not in current use should be covered properly. And all chemical containers should be labeled with proper information. • MSDSs, CSDS and safe operation procedures should be posted near each work station or places where chemicals are used. • Workers who operate with chemicals should receive safe handling trainings at least twice a year, or following the applicable law. • Flammable chemicals should be kept away from ignition sources. • No-smoking sign should be posted in areas where flammable chemicals are used. • Emergency eyewash facilities should be available within 30 meters of work stations where chemicals are used. • Chemical mixing areas or stations should be physically separated from production lines. • Workers should be provided with personal protective equipment (PPE) that is appropriate for the potential hazards that they face. • In many circumstances, some form of local exhaust ventilation (LEV) to vacuum remaining fumes from the air, away from workers and out of the factory is needed to bring the ambient air below the permissible exposure level (PEL).
