SURFACE TEXTURES
The PDTTM process has been able to produce a wide range of surface textures for different rolling mill
applications in both steel and aluminium. The surface textures range from completely random,
isotropic textures, simulating EDT, through to increasingly deterministic surfaces with a more regular
placement of craters. The amount of overlap of the craters can also be varied from isolated craters
through to highly overlapped craters as shown in Figure 4.
