Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to inform you that Nigel Hearne, currently vice president of the Appalachian/Michigan Business Unit (AMBU), has become the deputy managing director of Chevron Australia and our Australasia Business Unit, reporting to ABU Managing Director Roy Krzywosinski.
Nigel’s appointment strengthens our management team as we evolve from the construction-led phase of our Gorgon and Wheatstone natural gas projects to the ongoing operation of these two key assets. Nigel’s downstream and upstream operating experience, combined with his proven record of leading large, complex operations, such as the Richmond refinery, makes him well qualified to help position us for success as Australia commences operations at these world class facilities.
Nigel, who has served in his current role since 2013, joined Texaco in 1989 as a power engineer at the Pembroke Refinery in the United Kingdom. He progressed through refinery positions of increasing responsibility at Pembroke, before being appointed refinery business manager of our El Segundo Refinery in 2005. In 2006, Nigel was named operations manager at El Segundo, a role he held until 2010 when he became vice president of strategy for Chevron’s Downstream Strategy, Technology & Commercial integration business unit. In 2011, Nigel was named general manager of the Richmond Refinery.
Please join me in wishing Nigel well in his new role.
