STCC together with the Naval Executive Relations Development (N.E.R.D.) Division of the Royal Thai Navy is pleased and excited to offer you the chance to participate in our latest charity networking experience…a once in a lifetime chance to cruise down the majestic Chao Phraya river on board the historical royal boat HMS Angsana - once used by His Majesty the King to inspect royal projects along the river - on Loy Krathong Eve, 24 Nov 2015.
Departing just before dusk, soak in the splendour of the sun setting over the many historical monuments and buildings dotting the Chao Phraya river while networking on the open-air top deck of the HMS Angsana. Over pre-dinner cocktails, get the chance to chat with senior officials from various Thai government ministries and the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore. Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha has been invited whilst the Chief of the Royal Thai Navy has already confirmed his attendance. There will be several stops made along the river to view the Chao Phraya’s many landmarks that would be looking their best for the Loy Krathong celebrations… so don’t forget to whip out your cameras for the perfect photo op from the royal boat.
By night fall, be mesmerized by the twinkling lights of Bangkok, the “City of Angels” and the spectacularly illuminated treasures of the Chao Phraya, viewed while dining in the air-conditioned state rooms on the lower decks – where royalty and dignitaries once dined. We promise entertainment befitting the event with performances and dances showcasing Thailand’s age-old exquisite traditions and music by the Royal Thai Navy’s band. For those who want to brush up on their first-aid skills, a special first-aid demonstration will be put up by the medical staff from the Somdech Phra Pinklao Hospital (a Thai government hospital which caters to the underprivileged and children with psychological problems - www.pinklao.go.th), donor recipient of all proceed surpluses from this charity networking event. For the finale, Krathong floating lanterns will be provided to all for release into the river – a beautiful Thai tradition dating back to the Sukhothai period.
This fun-filled and enjoyable evening promises fond memories of cherished new friendships, renewed acquaintances and camaraderie amongst members. You are cordially invited to join us on this cruise – a first for STCC and N.E.R.D. It will be our privilege and honour to welcome you on board!
