As a matter of fact, an attractive solution would consist of the introduction of carbon atoms in IF-Ti grades after the requested drawing texture has been developped in absence of interstitial atoms. By this method, the strip presents BH capabilities as well as a high grain boundary cohesion and a homogeneous reactivity with zinc coatings (absence of (8) outburst) while keeping a strong drawing texture. In that aim, the efficiency of different carburizing treatments on bulk and surface properties of different low C steel grades has been investigated.
