In the Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences , consists of more than 40 teachers, focuses most of scientific and technological activities of the University of Bergamo. The scientific areas that compose it include various sectors in the field of ' Industrial Engineering (Energy, Fluid Dynamics, Technical Physics, Mechanics of machines and Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical Engineering and engineering materials), of' Building Engineering (Topography, science and technology of constructions, Production building, Architectural Composition, Design, Restoration, urban planning and technical and urban planning) and chemical and physical Sciences .
These are the same areas that are grouped in the Doctorate in Engineering and Applied Sciences , not surprisingly named as the Department. The doctorate has the task of training high-level people in the field of scientific and technological research, and graduate students are an essential part of the staff involved in research activities of the Department.
Active areas of research in the Department of Engineering and Aaplicate sciences can be traced to three main areas: technologies for the energy and l? Environment ; technologies for the conservation, protection, recovery and environmental sustainability ; microelectronics and mechatronics . The research areas are integrated with each other, and find a natural outlet in their themes of European research program Horizon 2020 . The Department has strong links with the productive reality of the territory, with which there are numerous research contracts.
Department are incardinated in the Degree courses in Building Engineering and Mechanical Engineering . The training is consistent with the industrial vocation of the territory which has hitherto significantly enhanced our graduates in terms of employment.
