PPS, a four-person group that provided support in all aspects
of product life cycle from launch to end-of–life, and which assessed competitive products and effects
of price changes on demand, prepared a top-down forecast of the global expected demand for digital
cameras. The PPS forecast was derived from a worldwide estimate of digital camera demand, and
calculated product- and region-specific forecasts based on historical and current trends of Leitax’s
market share as well as the current portfolio of products being offered by Leitax and its competitors.
The PPS group used research from market research groups to spot current trends and used
appropriate history as precedent in assessing competitive situations and price effects.
