Using songs in English language classroom can bring prominent interest and enduring
motivation to students in enjoying teaching and learning session. Thus this study aims to find out
students‘ perspectives on their beliefs and attitudes of using English songs in learning correct
pronunciation in English language. The study applies self-administered survey method and was adapted
from The Pronunciation Attitude Inventory (PAI) (Elliott, 1995). 280 semester-three students participated
in this study are among students those taking Communicative English Course 2 in Polytechnic of Sultan
Azlan Shah. Overall, the findings have implication for encouraging students in using correct
pronunciation while communicate in English language. Therefore it is suggested that more future studies
on the search of creating interesting language classroom activities to improve second language
pronunciation through songs should be taken into consideration. In conclusion, it is hoped that using
songs in teaching pronunciation not only enhance students‘ enthusiasm in using English language but also
can help lecturers in improving their ways of teaching Communicative English skills efficiently.
