For ongoing products, sell-in and sell-through rates and the channel inventory were
analyzed and compared with expected sales. The finance group aggregated channel inventory
and sales data from weekly reports from the resellers. Any discrepancies between inventories
reported and inventories calculated from sell-in and sell-through data were resolved, and
consensus sales forecasts were updated with the latest information available. Promotion or
price-change decisions were also revised in light of this data
