Community and the hospital: There was a strong community presence maintained, for example, throughout reach programmes. The hospital was perceived by the community to be strong and positive. 12. Nurses as teachers: Nurses were able and expected to incorporate teaching in all aspects of practice. 13. Image of nursing: Nurses were viewed as integral to the hospital’s ability to provide patient care services.
