Not a major attraction for international visitors but a visit to Dusit Zoo certainly gets you a memorable jungle experience right in the heart of the old town. Before it opened to the public in 1938, it was a private zoo of HM King Rama V the fifth, who ordered a construction on 1895 and named it Khao Din Vana, a name which is commonly known among Thais until today. Every year, more than 2,500,000 animal lovers visit Dusit Zoo to inspect more than 3,000 creatures housed in their inhabitant-like environment. The highlighted เทด zones include the Nocturnal Animal Habit and Raptiles and Amphibians Center.
