1.8.2 Supply conditions
Steel products may be supplied from Kunming China or Thailand (optional). Explosive materials may be purchased from Vientiane capital. Cement is to be supplied by Vang Viang Cement Plant, Lao PDR (currently other cement plants are under construction, and cement from other plants may be used in this project), while timber is to be supplied from B. Thabok Town. Petroleum products must be purchased from Vientiane Capital, while flyash must be purchased from Khai, Thailand, Machinery and electrical equipment shall be purchased from china, transported by sea to Bangkok, Thailand and then transit by road to the site.
Water consumption for construction and production will be taken locally, while domestic water supply is to be taken as per inspection of local water quality or coordinate with the local people for using local tap water.
Xeset 1 HPP a competed HPP is in the U/S of the project and there is a 10kV power transmission line near the access road of the HPP with easy access to power supply.
Satellite receiving station and mobile phones will be used for external communication, while program-controlled exchanger is to be used for internal communication, supplement with walkie talkies.
1.8.3 Construction diversion
1. The diversion flood standard of the main dam of the HPP is the greatest flood of 5-year recurrence period, the construction diversion scheme for the main dam is phased diversion the period of which is November –next March, and the corresponding diversion discharge is 107m3/s.
