Situated in the Northern delta, Bac Ninh’s topography is quite flat with slopes mainly from north to south and from west to east, showing through the surface water flows of the Cau river, Duong river and Thai Binh river. The difference about topography between different parts of the province is not too much. Plains account for a large area of the province with the popular height of from 3 meters to 7 meters above the sea level and there are some low - lying areas along the dyke of the districts of Gia Binh, Luong Tai, Que Vo. Mountains and midlands account for a very small percentage (only 0.53%) of the total land area of the province, which is scattered in Bac Ninh city, Tu Son town, Que Vo district. The common peaks are from 60 meter to 100 meters and the highest peak is Ban Co peak with the height of 171 meter, which is located in Bac Ninh city. Besides, there are some other peaks such as Bu mountain (103m) in Que Vo district, Phat Tich mountain (84m) in Tien Du district and Thien Thai mountain (71m) in Gia Binh district.
The flat topography enables Bac Ninh to develop convenient transportation system, which distributes a large part in developing tourism. In addition, Bac Ninh’s topography characteristic are also suitable for develop relaxation, camping, sight- seeing tourism.
