In summary, our actions nearly always have many causes
and many effects. Many influences cause us to do what we do, and
our actions cause many consequences, some we can see and others
we cannot see, and typically affect many people. And consequences
are often bigger than we think they should be. The sale and use of
alcohol and drugs is probably the best example of behavior that
many claim has few or no bad consequences, but in fact hurts many
people in many different ways.
