As the world economy expands, becoming increasingly a world capitalist system (Wallerstein,1979), there is a consistent pressure toward the commercialization of media systems.

Assymetrical Interdependence
It is clear that cuktural imperalism and dependency theories have sharpened the debate and focused attention on several key issues, particularly international relationship, economic relations, and class conflicts. However somewhat more flexible and complex paradigms are now required to apprehend the current development of national media and world media flows

Komersialisasi dan Transnationization
Sebagai ekonomi dunia berkembang, menjadi semakin sistem kapitalis dunia (Wallerstein, 1979), ada tekanan yang konsisten ke arah komersialisasi media sistem. Assymetrical Interdependensi Jelas bahwa imperalism cuktural dan ketergantungan teori telah mempertajam perdebatan dan terfokus perhatian pada beberapa isu-isu kunci, hubungan terutama internasional, hubungan ekonomi, dan konflik kelas. Namun paradigma agak lebih fleksibel dan kompleks sekarang diperlukan untuk menangkap perkembangan saat media nasional dan arus dunia media
