The giant freshwater prawn, Macrobr

The giant freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii
(de Man, 1879) is commercially important
as a primary inland cultured species (New 1995).
The life history of this species is quite interesting
because while the adults inhabit freshwater bodies,
the gravid females migrate to low saline estuarine
waters for spawning and the postlarvae migrate
back to freshwater areas for growth and maturity
