THE PROMOTING ENGLISH PROFICIENCY CAMPAIGN
BACKGROUD and OBJECTIVES:
The company has provided English training course for staff by expecting to enhance language skills for staff to be able to
work and to communicate with foreign people efficiency. In order to comply “KTL Group Mission Statement” in creating
quality education programs for the benefit of all KTL Group employees, to standardize for measuring the level of English use
based on the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC), to motivate and to urge staff improving language
skills for well preparing staff as a part of Asians Economics Community (AEC) in 2015 which is an important to support for
the expanding of company’s business. Thus, HR would like to propose a campaign of “The Promoting English Proficiency
Programs” for management consideration.
This campaign will be useful for the company managing, gathering and maintaining talent/potential staff working in long term
period for business sustainability and succession plan development due to job satisfaction, staff motivation and morale are
increased which is reducing staff turnover rate. These potential staff can be useful and able to reshuffle to the company’s
business function which needs the use of English skills to work appropriately (if any).
Considering to the current labor market, new graduation would expect minimum salary 15,000 Baht follows to government
policy while the skilled English employee also expects salary in higher level. This campaign will also be helpful for
recruiting staff with good English language skills while this additional incentive pay will be in accordance to the basic
concept of “Pay for Performance”. Moreover, we are also push staff into learning process continuous by having some
incentive of self-development.
QUALIFIATION OF APPLICANTS:
Interested staff must be permanent and passed probation.
Foreign staff and/or staff with a special agreement are not allowed participation.
TARGET and BUDGET ESTIMATION:
In the beginning stage, the number of participants in this campaign is expected about 50 person (30% of total number of office staff)
and It would be dropped and maintained number about 10-20% after 2 years instead due to staff has to get higher TOEIC score at
least 20 points compared with the previous.
Most of staffs are expected to score 500 points in average, thus the budget would be approx. 150 x 1,000 = 150,000 Baht a month for
the first 2 years then it will be declined and remained approx. 50,000-100,000 Baht instead. If the number does not adhere to the
estimation, it means our staff has been developed more English skills steadily.
