Hi John Will. This is Captain Sommai Deelert. Thank you very much for showing us around the city today. We all enjoyed the day very much, especially the Australian food we had for lunch. We were especially impressed with the Australian meat and the surprising selection of sweet desserts.
Now some bad news I’m afraid. I’m very sorry, but we will not be able to come to your house for dinner tonight because when we returned to the hotel there was a message waiting for Colonel Suchart and he needs to return to Thailand immediately as his wife has been involved in a serious accident and she is in hospital. We have successfully arranged for his flight home. He will leave first thing in the morning – I think the flight departs at 0755h, but we need your help with arranging transport to take him to the airport as we are all very busy preparing for the big meeting tomorrow.
Could you please also let the hosts of the Strategic Dialogue know about the situation so that they are not surprised that we are missing a member of our delegation. We’ll still go ahead with the program as planned, but in the absence of Colonel Suchart. He insists that this turn of events should not jeopardise the progress we are making.
Also, we are not sure what time we will be collected from the hotel tomorrow morning to go to the meeting at Russell Offices. Could you please call me back as soon as you get this message so we can discuss arrangements?
Please give our apologies to your family for not being able to join you for dinner.
Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon.
