4. Grow-out farms
Two farms that were supplied with juvenile barramundi seedstock
from DAC during the survey period permitted sampling of fish during
grow-out. Fish at 3 and 5 months of age were collected using a cast net
thrown into 1 of 6 randomly selected portions of the 0.1 or 2 hectare
ponds. At 18 months of age the fish were captured by fishing with a
rod and reel
