Great chunks of ice littered the greenish-blue water. Gray mists of fog swirled around the boat, when suddenly through a break in the mist, I could see the glacier. Wedged between two sheer dark gray cliffs, it towered over the boat. It was and rocky toward the top, but the side leaning toward the water contained vertical shafts of white and clear blue. Then suddenly I heard it-a low rumble and then sharp cracking. An immense piece of ice began to topple slowly toward the water.
