Positive aspects of the adult learning environment
Bothe students and teachers used the term “adult learning environment” in the interviews to describe aspects of the TAFE environment. Students reported that they liked the flexible and relaxed nature of TAFE, being able to work at their own pace, and being treated like an adult by teachers. Teachers spoke of respectful relationships and of treating students as adults, Teachers aimed specifically to create a different environment from that of secondary school and counter the impact of negative school experiences on students
