Real Vs. Fake Beauty

Anyone can go to their local supermarket and grab a magazine off of the shelf. Inside this magazine and even on the cover you will find these glossy and glamorous beautiful people. Just the mere sight of these people can give one the feeling of being inadequate and ugly, and I for one have been there too.

I have seen these ultra gorgeous women and thought 'Why can't I look like them?' or 'I am so ugly compared to her' and frankly that's not right. Sure these women are naturally gorgeous...but that is without the use of helpful editing systems. This makes people appear to look flawless and yes, achieve the 'perfect look' but in reality: NO ONE LOOKS LIKE THAT. They don't.

Not one of us is perfect and I think it is wrong to enhance these people in these ways because of the effect that it has on normal women in today's society. We are all beautiful and we are all different. The media may not come out and verbally tell us that we are ugly but a majority of this message is implied by vamping up these super models and beauty queens and shoving them in our faces.

It is so sad that because of other people that normal people are changing themselves because they feel that the way they really are is not good enough. What gives anyone the power to lower someone else's self esteem? The answer is absolutely nothing. God created us so we could all bring something unique to the world, and we are all beautiful creations of our God. Every person deserves to feel beautiful because they are beautiful.
