will an organization's corporate culture "clash" or "fit" with a different national culture? The key con- sideration here is what components of corporate culture link most tightly to competitive advantage and, as a consequence, must be managed consis- tently across country borders—even if they seem to clash with the culture of the new country. Alterna- tively, are there components of culture that are not critical to the linkage? If so, flexibility may en- hance the competitiveness of the corporate culture given the different national culture.
