B.B. Pharma Co., Ltd. is one of the largest herbal medicine manufacturers in Thailand, established in 1917 by Mr. Jua Penparkkul, under the name “Hang Penpark”. Hang Penpark started of with one unit commercial building on a side of Yoawarath Road near Wat Tuk conjunction, the primary trade area of Thailand. The first pharmaceutical product accessible from Hung Penpark was “Ya Krisana Klan Penpark” an agarwood oil, treating stomachache and diarrhea. Later on “Ya Satree Penpark”, indicated for menstrual cramping, maintain bloodstream, and relief of dysmenorrheal, was introduced to the market. In the early age, Chinese herbals are key ingredients in Ya Satree Penpark due to inflexible of Thai herbs and low popularity of ready-made herbal medicine. Even so, through Mr. Jua’s ambition to produced high quality remedy available to all Thai, along with steadily good results delivery to consumers, this herbal business was made possible, and is increasing popularity among consumers continuously.
In 1957, the business started to expands, Mr. Jua Penpartkul had moved the factory from Yoawarath Road to Soi Wat Sam Phraya, Bang Lam Poo. This Bang Lum Poo facility could cooperation to produced both modern and traditional remedies. Under the King of NAGA trademark, available in the market were Ya Satree Penpark”, “Ya Tad Namdang Penpark”, “Cough Syrup Penpark”, “Pickled Liquor Penpark”, “Ya Krisana Klan Penpark” and many other remedies. In 1975, the name “Hang Penpark” had been replaced with “B.B. Pharma Co., Ltd.” And came along an adoption of modern machinery to efficiently produced herbal medicine. This, along with an integration of new and original marketing method, that had enhanced Ya Satree Penpark sale volume and make it leading women herbal medicine in Thailand.
However, with an area limited and the booming of herbal heal, the production of modern medicine in Bang Lum Poo facility was cancelled to only emphasize on developing and manufacturing traditional herbal medicine. Yet again, in 2002, the facility has full grown it’s capacity. A superior facility is needed, in 2003 new plant development has sketched.
The new factory was built in 2004, a year and 8 months later, the plant operated. This new factory was designed to support GMP system (Good Manufacturing Practice) which refers to excellencies of production standard. This new plant is one of the first few leading traditional medicine manufacturers to received the award and the one and only women herbal medicine manufacturer in Thailand to received the highest standard GMP-ASIAN on April 4th, 2007. The making assembly is held very professionally, from systematically sorting out herbs departs contaminated, to the purifying herbal process, to the separation of herbal in processing room, and to the design of stainless steel pipeline for Liquid medicine to run through. At the beginning to the very end process, quality of remedies and cleanliness were tested throughout the production line to ensure customers received only the highest standard of Ya Satree Penpark. B.B. Pharma Co., Ltd. is located on 15-rai plot; Thammasat - Chiang Rak Road close to Thammasat University, Rangsit campus. This factory is one of a few traditional medicine manufacturers in Thailand to receive GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) which refer to excellencies of production standard. It is also the first and the only one women herbal medicine manufacturer in Thailand to received the highest standards of GMP-ASIAN on April 4, 2007. According to the statistics, there are all together 967 traditional medicine manufacturers in Thailand, only 15 of them received GMP standard and the only one women herbal medicine manufacturer to received the highest standards of GMP-ASIAN.
