Siderophore production was determined on Chrome-azurol S
(CAS) medium following the method of Schwyn and Neilands
(1987). The bacterial strains (24 h old cultures) were spotted separately
on CAS medium and incubated at 28
±
1 ◦C for 48–72 h.
Formation of orange to yellow halo around the colonies confirmed
the production of siderophore.
