Smythe (2011) refers to blended learning as a practical framework
that comprises a variety of operative methods of learning and teaching. It
supports the use of computer technologies to facilitate learning and make
use of various approaches to motivate students for more engagement.
However, the researcher tends to define blended learning as a
teaching method which blends the use of technology in the learning
environment with the traditional learning setting and tools to maximize
learning as it turns the setting from teacher centered class into student
centered class. This helps in improving the quality of teaching-learning
process, by enhancing its outputs, creating new potentials for selflearning as well as lifelong learning.
