a pilot study was conducted to identify the most active fraction and acute toxicity of the fraction was tested. healthy female swiss albino mice maintained under standard laboratory con ditions were used for acute toxicity test according to ordanization for econmic cooperation and development (oecd) guidelines. the acute toxicity studies were conducted as per the oecd guidelines 425 where the limit test dose of 2000 mg/kg was used. they were all observed for toxicity signs like changes in physical appearance, behavioral change, motor and feeding activities, and other signs of acute toxicity and mortality after administration of the dose.
